A whole-of-body approach to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being

Traditional
Style Yoga

With so many mind, spirit, and body benefits available, it’s no surprise that so many people with so many needs, are rolling out a mat.

But to get the most benefit and the most enjoyment, it’s important to make sure that you find a yoga studio and teachers that not only suit you but give you several options - and encouragement to try different styles and levels of intensity.

At 108, our traditional or classical style of yoga offers a whole-of-body approach to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being that has been passed down through generations. It involves various practices, including physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), meditation, and philosophical teachings. Rooted in ancient Indian texts and philosophies, traditional yoga focuses on self-awareness, self-discipline and the journey towards self-realisation and enlightenment. It often draws for its inspiration on foundational texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and makes sure you achieve harmony between your body, mind, and spirit through regular practice and alignment with basic yogic principles.

We recommend traditional yoga for beginners, although it is also popular with more advanced practitioners.
